My google home page displays news stories and dictionary.com's last three words of the day.
About once a week I make up a headline for a real news story using the last three words.
Today:
"Committee’s risible dictum leaves the President skulking."
Last week:
"The Popes vapid redacted equivocations fail to impress the Muslim world."

The Beak UK rocked my world Monday night.
The beat is strong with them. They ended the set with an abbreviated call to political action. In a somewhat subdued Birmingham accent "Peace in our life time; if at all possible".
The very bright highlight of a dismal day.

I've been required to program (or choose to for fun) over two dozen programming languages.
When I get to choose I tend to choose the right language for the right job.
For the last many years I've been working on massive web sites with high user loads and many maintainers of a variety of skill levels. This has restricted the choices.
Recently I moved into a "pure" research and development position and will be required to prototype complex sites quickly with a team of one and a half. My manager and partner in crime had already selected Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework.
I resisted. After all I knew many other "web languages" and had authored my own frameworks in most of them and I hate reinventing the wheel.
I had played with Ruby a few years ago long before all the Rails hype but had no use for a system scripting language at the time.
I found that having been forced to do it like a teenager being forced to do some activity thay deem to juvenile that it was fun. Fun in a way that programming had not been in a long time. Ruby is not without its quirks and Rails is cetainly not architected exactly as I would design it, but it is not too bad.
We'll see how I feel after another few weeks with it.
